COVID Policies and Procedures

As we live the COVID pandemic we are learning each day about how to keep the children in our care safe. We are following CDC guidelines, Health Department mandates, and Community Care Licensing PINs. We have used these to guide us in creating our own COVID POLICIES AND PROCEDURES to ensure that we keep everyone safe. Children and staff routinely wash their hands for 30 seconds. Toys and play materials are cleaned and sanitized daily and are rotated twice a day. The facility is deep cleaned regularly. Anyone demonstrating any signs of illness is sent home immediately.

Health and Safety

Here at Golden City C.D.C., Inc. , we’re proud to provide children with a learning environment that’s safe, welcoming, and fun. From entering procedures to equipment checks, from head counts to cameras, we work tirelessly to keep every child safe.
Health and Safety is our priority in all areas:

Staff

Each teacher is equipped with pediatric CPR and First Aid training. All staff is trained annually on food safety and childhood nutrition.

Facility

Each area is child proofed. The facility is inspected on a regular basis to discover hazards. Each month the children and staff practice drop drills, fire drills, and emergency lock down drills. The facility is equipped with fire extinguishers that are regularly checked and refilled. The facility has an emergency food and water supply.

Children

Children have emergency bags in case of evacuation or lock down. Excellent hand washing practices prevent germ-spreading. We always monitor children for signs of illness and immediately notify parents if their child is unwell, which also stops the spread of illness. Classrooms are regularly cleaned and disinfected with child-safe products.

Food Safety

All food from our menu (not including infant cereal) must be prepared in the kitchen to appropriate size for the age group being served. During meal and snack times, all children must be supervised by a staff member seated at the same (or a nearby) table

Playground and Toys

We consistently disinfect toys and inspect them for broken pieces or loose parts. For little ones under 3, we look for choking hazards. All our playground areas are surrounded by secure fences, and safely designed fall zones prevent playground injuries.

Monitoring System

At Golden City C.D.C., Inc., the safety and well-being of every child is our utmost priority. To ensure a secure environment, we would like to inform you that our daycare center utilizes security cameras that record both video and audio. However, ensure no cameras are installed in the restrooms to maintain privacy.

These cameras serve multiple purposes and offer numerous advantages for our dedicated teachers and the children under our care. Some of the key benefits include:

Teacher Evaluation

Our administration regularly monitors the footage captured by the security cameras to assess our teachers’ performance and provide constructive feedback. This evaluation process ensures that we maintain the highest standards of care and constantly strive for improvement.

Observation of Children

The security cameras allow our staff to observe interactions between teachers and children. This valuable tool helps us strengthen the teacher-child relationship, identify areas for growth, and ensure a positive learning environment for all.

Teacher Training

The recorded footage from the security cameras is also used for training purposes. By reviewing real-life scenarios, our teachers can enhance their skills, develop innovative teaching techniques, and continuously improve their professional abilities.

We understand that you may have questions or concerns about our security camera policy. Our knowledgeable staff is always available to address any inquiries and provide you with the necessary peace of mind. Your trust in Golden City C.D.C., Inc. is greatly valued, and we remain committed to providing a safe and enriching experience for all children in our care.

Tax Savings Opportunities and Incentives

Congress has legislated certain tax credits and savings incentives focused on relieving the cost of child care for eligible taxpayers that may provide additional savings for you.

• The Child and Dependent Care Tax Credit is a federal tax credit available for eligible taxpayers to assist in reducing your year-end tax liability.

• The Child Tax Credit program may reduce the Federal tax you owe for each qualifying child under the age of 17.

• A Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) may be provided by your employer to allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for child care costs.

• Various states provide additional incentives for qualified taxpayers.

These tax credits and FSA changes will impact every family differently. As we are not tax professionals, we cannot advise you on the specific impact to your family. It’s best to consult with a tax professional or preparer (tax preparation software will also have information). Or visit irs.gov to learn more.
